Vancouver keeps its status as the World’s most liveable city 2010, according to Economist Intelligent Unit’s survey. The host city of this year’s Winter Olympics has kept its top ranking and same rating (98/100) since last year, just as Vienna, coming second with the rate of 97.9. Only two European cities have made their way into top ten – to our delight, Helsinki celebrates the 6th position. All the rest of the top ten cities are from Canada and Australia.
The Economist Intelligence Unit’s liveability survey assesses living conditions in 140 cities around the world. A rating of relative comfort for 30 indicators is assigned across five broad categories: stability; healthcare; culture and environment; education; and infrastructure. The survey gives an overall rating of 0-100, where 1 is intolerable and 100 is ideal.

This change led to a condition of being in-between, of permanent departure and rare arrival. Large parts of the east are still framed by transition.
